2015 Cuba Goodwill Tour

Through the work of Tour Director/Coach Dennis Woodworth of NS, Fredericton will be sending 17 players from ages 12-14 from our area to participate in a Cuba Goodwill Tour.  This experience will provide a real look at how baseball is played in a Caribbean Country, while at the same time help support kids with much less than we in North America have.  Kids selected will not only be there for their baseball skill, but their attittude and love of the game.  They will be Canadian Ambassadors as they participate.  It is the belief that the success of these tours to lead to more opportunity to bring Cuban and other Caribbean kids to Canada to enjoy our hospitality.  "Fredericton loves baseball, we certainly have more than 17 kids who are eligible and could make this trip but we have only 17 spots this time around.  We plan to do it again in 2016." says Paul Hornibrook, director and  coach of the Fredericton group for 2015. "We love the opportunity it give kids to see baseball in another country and play ball in the dead of winter here in Canada...most importantly through our fund raising efforts, help kids."

Peewee A Provincial Champs

The Taymouth Tigers won the Baseball New Brunswick Pee Wee A title at a great tournament held in Dalhousie on Labour Day weekend.

We went 3-1 in Round Robin play with wins over Dalhousie, Baie Ste. Anne, and Big Cove. Our loss came to Bathurst. We beat Big Cove by a score of 12-2 in the final.

Our community is pretty 'pumped' about it....and given all the shale gas controversy, is a pleasant shot in the arm. All jokes side, it is timely as the community of Taymouth is seeking funding for their community ball field and community centre.
